“Manic Focus is the electronic music project of John “JmaC” McCarten, a Chicago-based producer originally hailing from the Twin Cities. McCarten’s music is known for its multi-dimensional sound, incorporating elements of soul, dubstep, hip-hop, blues and funk, as well as smooth vocal samples, heavy-hitting bass lines, and the occasional rowdy rhymes of hip-hop artists.
Dirtwire sits on the back porch of Americana’s future, conjuring up a whirlwind of sound using traditional instrumentation, world percussion, soundscapes, and electronic beats. Comprised of David Satori (Beats Antique), Evan Fraser (The Dogon Lights; Bolo), and Mark Reveley (Jed and Lucia), each performance brings us all to a mysterious crossroads of beats, blues, African, Asian, and South American sounds. The result is a rebirth of Americana and a post-millennial psychedelic journey to down home goodness.
EarthCry is Anthony Thogmartin of Papadosio’s solo musical project, serving as an outlet for his more eclectic and electronic musical ideas. It is also a launchpad for experimental genre mashing, modular synthesizer wiggling, frequency blending, and odd instrument combinations. Staying true to live roots, an EarthCry show can consist of any combination of live instruments, mixing, slicing, looping, and cutting over arrangements that come out differently every time. All the while, electronic controls are always facing the crowd to encourage a deeper experience of interaction.
For ColorDance, Anthony is coming with some deep cuts and heavy improvisation in a unique set with Papadosio's drummer Mike Healyns
GIBBZ is a renaissance man. After a childhood spent acting in Clist horror movies and ballroom dancing, he received a "degree" from Berklee College of Music. There he focused on music production, aiding in his future full time position as an audio engineer. After 5 years on the road and in studios with international touring acts, he realized being an engineer is a thankless, miserable existence. Luckily, his path had led him to working for a crew that went on to form the Lowtemp record label, including Gramatik and Exmag. They convinced him that it's OK to drink copious amounts of alcohol and make everyone within a 30 ft radius uncomfortable. Out of this drunken, obnoxious, offensive mess of a man, GIBBZ was born. GIBBZ can now be found singing and dancing to his own brand of electro pop, recently touring with the likes of Cherub, Ghost Beach and The Floozies.
VIPs will enjoy a spin off of GIBBZ's podcast titled "Drinking with GIBBZ," where the man himself pours each VIP a drink while Dallas Craft performs an intimate, VIP only set
“American Babies began as a side project for Tom Hamilton with a rotating cast of musicians, the lineup has recently solidified to include Hamilton’s longtime partner-in-crime bassist Clay Parnell (Particle, Brothers Past), keyboardist Adam Flicker (The Brakes), drummer Al Smith, and rhythm guitarist Justin Mazer. With American Babies, Hamilton has turned his focus to songwriting and crafting lyrics that share tales of trials and tribulations ranging from working class hard truths and political chaos to personal relationships gone sour.
Fearlessly blending a passion for songwriting with the electronica-based improv rock that Hamilton and Parnell developed with Brothers Past, American Babies are pioneering a new sound — fusing serious songs with an open-ended sense of adventure that encourages full-group improvisation in the live setting.”

They promise to entertain with an unbeatable enthusiasm and a desire to differ from other groups. Some of the band’s favorite things include surreal humor, impromptu jams, and hearty Southern cooking. “After Funk is a fun filled, soul driven, funk-rock explosion. Hailed as “The grooviest band north of the border” (Live for Live Music), the Toronto based funk family have been blazing a trail through the North American music scene leaving only happy hearts and dancing feet in their wake. The combination of Yanick Allwood (keyboards & vocals), Jaime Rosenberg (drums), Justin Bontje (bass) and Phil Tessis (guitar) results in an infectiously fun show, as well as virtuosity and beauty that will challenge your musical mind. After Funk’s sound and hard work has not gone unnoticed; being selected as the Electric Forest’s Instrumental Forester in 2014 earned them two sets at the festival and they have served as support for Walk Off The Earth, Lettuce, Snarky Puppy, Dumpstaphunk, TAUK and more.
The band has released 2 albums to help you prepare for the experience: ‘Til The Sun Comes Up features Canadian hip hop legend Choclair and earned over $10,000 in crowdfunding presales and their self-titled debut EP was mixed and mastered by Alan Evans of Soulive. Both albums promise to have you rocking out and singing along to catchy melodies and funky grooves. But if you truly want to find out what comes after the funk, you’ll just have to come experience it for yourself.”

While living in a battling community of local residents and overrun college students, I feel as if I stand in the middle. My community is in desperate need of musical and creative substance, and I strive to be at the forefront of that. I study music production at Ohio University, and I'm a full time student. I like to focus my mind on one thing and center my day around it. Living in Athens, Ohio provides me with a picture-esque landscape every time I walk out of my front door. I am so appreciative that I have the opportunity to admire the rolling Appalachia hills in such depth. I love to lock myself into my headphones and listen to an artist that makes me think proactive thoughts; Maybe take a longer walk than usual to appreciate the place that I am in. My happiness is the one thing that can make or break a productive session of music. There are often times that I find my musical creativity comes hand-in-hand with myself being content and comfortable in my actions. At that point, my brain can become comfortable enough to relax, and I can channel ideas that are out of the box. I am a right brained person, and my brain is frequently very abstract. I like to involve myself in as many outlets as possible, and I believe that art is our core motivation as humans. My way of thinking is that I can bring out thoughts that are in the deepest section of our brain
